Trust

  1. You say you're a trustworthy company, but can you prove it?

We have a very good reputation, and not one client has had cause to complain.

We do of course understand that you need to be certain of who you deal with, and so the following information may be useful to you:

    1. Our director is a professional member of the Chartered Institute for IT (www.bcs.org), and we are fully committed to the best practices of the IT industry and to maintaining a high professional standard at all times.

    2. All temporary and permanent staff of Prehoc Solutions Ltd are subject to a minimum of both a security check and a basic CRB disclosure. For your peace of mind, we can provide you with access to the necessary results.

    3. We are fully registered with the UK Data Protection Registrar.

    4. We are fully insured by Hiscox Ltd, a very well regarded insurance company.

    5. We are a member of The Federation Of Small Businesses, a group of small businesses in the UK.

We are happy to provide full details of all of the above to our existing and potential clients; we are proud of our reputation. Please contact us and we can discuss it.

Discounts

  1. Do you offer discounts?

Yes. We will provide discounts to certain qualifying groups:

    1. Charitable and Community Organisations

    2. Serving and ex-service personnel, and their dependants, for all Armed Forces

    3. Serving or retired emergency service personnel, and their dependants

    4. OAPs

    5. Students

(confirmation of status may be required)

  2. Do you do a discount for cash?

We may consider taking a small percentage off for cash transactions, but VAT will always be applied to your invoice.

Repairs and upgrades

  1. Will you look at the contents of my machine?

Absolutely not without your permission. Despite what some computer repair people may say, it is rarely necessary even to attempt to open a file during a repair. No one at Prehoc Solutions Ltd will ever abuse your trust in that way!

  2. Where are you based?

We are based in Mitcham, south London. Our address can be found on the contact page, but please note that personal callers are only seen by appointment. Please contact us and we can arrange a visit at a time that suits you.

  3. Can you fix my machine?

In short, probably. Please contact us and we can discuss it.

  4. Do you only fix computers?

We specialise in computers, but may be able to handle or advise on other repairs; after all, a modern LCD TV is not much different from a laptop. Please contact us and we can discuss it.

  5. How much do you charge?

There are many factors that affect pricing, such as whether a call out is involved or if the machine is brought to us. Our price is normally lower than other companies, and we also offer various discounts (see discounts FAQ section). Please contact us and we can quote a price or discuss the work with you.

  6. I don't live in London, can you help me?

Depending on the location, we may be able to come to you. Alternatively, sending the machine to us could be arranged. Please contact us and we can discuss it.

  7. I want to set up a website, but don't know how to begin.

We can help! Please contact us and we can discuss it.

  8. I need a new printer or monitor.

Please have a look at our peripheral recommendations. These are things we believe in and recommend to our clients. If an item isn't shown, please check the suppliers' link anyway as they can be relied upon to provide good service.

Forensics

  1. What experience do you have in computer forensics?

Running servers requires us to know what's what when it comes to system logging. Combining this knowledge with our practical experience of ethical hacking and systems analysis, we are able to provide sound advice as well as carry out legally responsible investigations tailored to your needs.

  2. I think my website/email has been hacked - what should I do?

First, don't panic, but instead contact us, and we'll call you back to go through what needs to be done. The impact of such hacking is not always immediately obvious, and having an experienced professional go through the steps with you is very helpful.

NB We don't charge for this initial assistance, as we feel you already have enough to worry about!

  3. Can you help identify the person responsible?

In many cases yes, especially if the attack is directed specifically against one of our clients. Knowing how things work enables us to look at the bigger picture of what has happened, and identify areas which warrant further checking.

Subsequently, we can liaise with other companies (such as the email provider or ISP) to resolve the issue and establish evidence pointing to the guilty party. If the electronic trails fail to provide all the information necessary, we can call on other investigation teams to assist in tracking down those responsible, and these teams will investigate everything necessary about the criminal to provide enough evidence to prosecute.

We are tenacious when it comes to finding those responsible for criminal acts against any client's infrastructure.

  4. We suspect a member of our staff of misusing the computer network - can you help?

This question is all too common, and yes we can help. We have experience ranging from prevention and educating users on acceptable practice, all the way through to examining the system after the event to identify the party responsible. Our success rate in identifying perpetrators, and then providing sound evidence against them in legal proceedings, is extremely high!

Websites

  1. Isn't it really expensive to set up a website?

It depends who you speak to, and no it doesn't need to be. Please contact us and we can discuss it.

  2. Will you permit 'adult' content in your website hosting?

As long as it's legal, yes. We use multiple hosting companies to provide our clients with the most appropriate facilities for their needs.

Payment

  1. Do you accept credits cards?

Yes. We are an authorised merchant for all major cards (American Express, JCB, Maestro, Mastercard, Solo and Visa).

  2. How much do you charge for...?

Our prices are very competetive. Rather than charge a flat hourly rate for all work (which would leave many customers with unnecessarily large bills), the charges vary depending on the work involved. Please contact us to discuss your particular case.
